Clare co-founded Code Club in 2012 to inspire the next generation to learn to solve problems and create inventions with code.. Since its foundation over 13,000 Code Clubs have been created, reaching over 150,000 children around the world each year. Clare has been nominated as one of the most influential women in UK tech by Computer Weekly for three years in a row and was awarded an MBE for services in technology education in the Queen’s 2015 New Year’s Honours List.
Clare will talk about how she started to turn a simple idea into a worldwide movement with just a laptop, an internet connection and help from some good friends. She’ll talk about the creative, lean prototyping methods she used to test her ideas and how Code Club passes on this approach to inspire the next generation of problem solvers, inventors and world changers.
She’ll describe the challenges she encountered on the way and how you can learn from her mistakes and then take your chance to change the world.
